Over the last few years, I've listened to hundreds of hours of RFK Jr videos, and I can honestly say it looks like he really is sincere when he says he doesn't act out of anger. He has a really big capacity to forgive and try to find understanding in any situation.
This is a really great interview, where RFK Jr. talks about finding forgiveness. I've copied the transcript and pasted it below this video. It's really worth remembering.
RFK Jr. Explains How He Deals With Anger and Resentment
0:00
in our 12-step programs we do something
0:01
called a 10st step every night where we
0:03
go do our inventory of what we're
0:05
resentful for what's coming up in your
0:06
10 step these days I'm pretty good about
0:09
not hanging on to resentment you have to
0:11
be there's two ways that most people
0:15
process uh conflict and
0:18
anger and one of those ways is to
0:21
internalize it and to uh turn it into a
0:24
resentment and that is like swallowing
0:27
poison and hoping someone else will die
0:30
and the other way is to externalize it
0:32
turn it into anger or rage and it
0:34
ripples across the globe so neither of
0:37
those is a good way to do it and I I
0:38
think the technique for handling anger
0:41
is that you go to the source of your
0:43
anger and then you explain how you feel
0:46
about it you know without pointing the
0:48
finger without using the word you don't
0:51
say you did this to me another technique
0:53
is to pray for somebody that injures you
0:56
I remember a time when I turn my car
0:58
around and chase the guy or 12 miles
1:01
from White PL to to or Salem exit then I
1:05
was late for the appointments that I was
1:06
supposed to do that day and and the guy
1:08
is living in my head rentree mhm and
1:11
that
1:12
stranger Now controls my happiness and
1:15
my you know capacity to to maximize my
1:19
impact on the world and so somebody told
1:21
me when somebody does that to you to
1:23
immediately just say a prayer for
1:26
them and it was like a miracle cuz it
1:29
just went away now you know I'm in
1:30
control of my own life we forgive others
1:32
not cuz they deserve forgiveness but cuz
1:34
we deserve peace yeah so well that's
1:36
really good way you just said what I
1:38
said in 10
1:39
minutes I should have just said that can
1:42
I write that
1:43
[Music]
1:48
down
